There are various reasons for water ingress in diesel generators, and a summary of generator maintenance experience is as follows:
1. Due to poor storage and protection of the unit, water enters the engine cylinder through the smoke pipe on rainy days or other reasons;
2. The computer room is flooded, and the entire unit is submerged in water;
3. The cylinder gasket is damaged, and the water in the water channel inside the cylinder enters the oil passage and then flows into the oil pan;
4. The water blocking ring of the wet cylinder liner is damaged. Due to the high water level and pressure in the radiator, water seeps into the oil path along the outer wall of the cylinder liner.
5. The oil cooler is damaged. The oil cooler circulates water or coolant, or when the oil cooler ruptures, the internal water will enter the oil circuit and the oil will enter the water tank, mixing together.
6. The water pump seal is damaged, causing water to enter the oil passage.
7. There are cracks in the engine cylinder block or cylinder head, and water seeps into the cracks due to sudden cooling or freezing of the cylinder block.
